PEST (i.e. Political, Economic, Social and Technological):

PEST is an analysis model that describes a framework of macro-environmental factors used in the environmental scanning components of strategic management.

PESTEL (i.e. political, economic, social, technological, environmental and legal)

PESTEL is an extended version of the PEST framework by adding environmental factors and legal factors.

STEEP (i.e. social, technological, economic, ecological, and political)

STEEP analysis is a tool to evaluate various external factors impacting a given company's strategic plan to remain competitive.
