Summary

On Dec 11, at the 24th guangdong seed expo, CCM conducted field research across nine themed zones (AI+agriculture, seed brands, agri-machinery), reviewing 6,000+ new varieties and meeting long-term partners. We tracked key sessions on quality-driven upgrading and noted MARA’s intensified winter seed supervision and revitalization agenda. Next, we’ll follow Yueqiang Seed Chip and other events to deliver timely market, variety, and tech-trend reports.

Industry Insights in Action: On-Site Deep Dive into Expo Highlights

On December 11, the Guangzhou Seed Expo entered its second day, and the momentum kept climbing. As an event centered on the high-end, quality-driven, and international development of China’s seed industry, it continued to draw wide attention.

The CCM team participated with a professional lens, immersively touring major thematic halls, tracking core exchange sessions, and holding in-depth talks with partners and industry leaders—using on-the-ground research to anchor data and capture the pulse of seed-industry development.

Today’s flagship session—“Seeking Solutions in the Era of Quality”—ran smoothly. Luo Guowu, Deputy Director of the Guangdong Agricultural Technology Extension and Service Center, delivered a keynote on innovation and industrial upgrading in the quality-first era, offering valuable roadmaps for practitioners on site.

In parallel, multiple themed zones were buzzing. Across nine exhibition areas—including the 7,500 m² Seed Brand Pavilion, Best Varieties & Best Practices Pavilion, and AI + Agriculture Application Scenarios Pavilion—the expo showcased innovation across the full seed-industry value chain.

On the floor, the CCM team focused on standout domestic and international varieties and front-edge technologies. Over 6,000 newly developed varieties took center stage—vibrant vegetables, plump melons and gourds, and golden root-and-tuber crops—paired with green, efficient cultivation models that highlighted the synergy of “Good Varieties + Good Practices.”

In the AI + Agriculture area, full-cycle intelligent management solutions for crops such as corn and cabbage drew special attention; the fusion of IoT, UAVs, and AI models enabled remote field monitoring and precision operations, offering a tangible reference for smart-agriculture deployment.

The modern agri-machinery section emphasized compact equipment for hilly/mountainous terrains and low-altitude economy solutions, underscoring the coordinated upgrade between agri-machinery and the seed industry.

Notably, many long-term CCM clients were actively present—Syngenta, Jinzhong Huinong, Tianhe Co., Ningxia Seed Industry, Jingyan, Rijk Zwaan, and more—showcasing everything from breakthrough varieties to innovative technical solutions.

The CCM team held intensive meetings with partners and experts, gathering project updates, R&D progress, evolving market demand signals, and implementation pain points. These first-hand insights will feed directly into our data updates and forthcoming reports.

As a company dedicated to industry data reporting and analytics, CCM adheres to the principle of “field research + deep dialogue.” Our full-journey participation in the Guangzhou Seed Expo aims to capture, in real time, trends in innovation, directions in technology convergence, and shifts in market supply–demand.

Next, we will continue to track follow-up events—such as “Yueqiang Seed Chip — Guangdong Seed Industry Revitalization Achievements Exhibition”—and further mine primary intelligence in AI breeding, biological breeding, and seed-industry industrialization.

Through sustained site visits and data accumulation, CCM will keep refreshing its industry information database to deliver accurate, timely market dynamics, variety analyses, and technology-trend reports—helping clients make precise decisions and seize opportunities amid the seed industry’s quality- and technology-driven wave. Stay tuned for our upcoming insights.

Showcased 345 crop varieties (including 50 aerospace-bred varieties) across four major categories—vegetables, rice, and more—advancing technology transfer and public science outreach in agriculture.

Policy Focus: Seed Security & Revitalization, with Stronger Supervision

In December, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA) rolled out a nationwide winter seed supervision campaign, focusing on corn, rice, and soybeans, as well as disaster-relief and contingency seed reserves. The campaign targets counterfeit/inferior seeds and brand-infringement/“white-labeling” while addressing irregularities in online seed sales, to ensure seed security for the spring and summer planting seasons.

On November 13 in Changsha, Hunan, MARA convened an on-site meeting on the Seed Industry Revitalization Action, specifying key tasks for the 15th Five-Year Plan period—including accelerating precise identification of germplasm resources, cultivating breakthrough varieties, and strengthening enterprises as the core innovation entities.
