On 8 April, 2014, Beingmate Baby & Child Food Co., Ltd. (Beingmate) released an announcement that its wholly subsidiary-Hangzhou Beingmate mother & child nutrition Co., Ltd. planned to implement "a reconstruction project of 20,000 t/a infant formula by wet process" in order to complete the infant formula industry chain and reduce the production cost.
Covering an area of 3.67 ha. (55 mu), the project's total investment reached USD57 million (RMB350 million). It is scheduled for completion in 2016.
The total capacity of base powder for infant formula will reach 20,000 t/a once the project will be completed.
