Lactic acid (LA) industry:
In Q4 2021, the EIA of Keyuan Bio-Material's 200,000 t/a LA & 130,000 t/a PLA project was released; BBCA Biotechnology and BBCA Biomaterial completed the declaration of their 180,000 t/a LA project and 100,000 t/a PLA project respectively; Golden Far East's LA, DL-lactide and PLA project (20,000 t/a of LA, 5,000 t/a of PLA and 5,000 t/a of DL-lactide) entered the final stage of construction.
Jindan Technology's revenue and net profit in Q1-Q3, 2021, increased by 40.58% YoY and 7.11% YoY respectively. In addition, its 50,000 t/a L-lactic acid project started operation in Dec. 2021.
Citric acid industry:
In Dec. 2021, the MEE drew up the Amendments for Discharge Standards of Water Pollutants for Citric Acid Industry (GB 19430-2013) (Draft for Comments) and publicised for public comments.
In early Jan., the EIA report of RZBC Boyuan's 1,000 t/a potassium citrate and sodium citrate (for IMF use) technology transformation project was publicised.
In Q4 2021, citric acid prices kept increasing sharply, with the quarterly average ex-works prices of monohydrate citric acid reaching USD1,998/t (RMB12,749/t), up 51.08% QoQ and 160.99% YoY;
