In September 2026, the TiO2 market showed firm list prices but weak transaction prices. Leading producers initiated price hikes, with others following, but weak end-user demand limited pass-through, and some factories quietly softened actual prices. Ahead of the holiday, the market held stable as maintenance units gradually restarted and operating rates rebounded; lower sulphuric acid prices eased cost pressure. Downstream buyers replenished only as needed. Prices are expected to remain stable through the holiday delivery period, with no major fluctuations anticipated.
Most domestic titanium slag plants were actively fulfilling long-term contract orders, with few new orders signed. Given weak supply and demand, plants were mainly serving existing customers. Operating rates were also low, and prices were temporarily stable.
Panxi titanium ore inquiries improved slightly, but downstream cost pressure persisted and buyers continued to push for lower prices on new orders. Local supply increased, with some major plants cutting prices to reduce inventories, weighing on nearby ore traders. Mainstream prices softened; low-grade deals trended downward, while high-grade material struggled to hold high offers. The market is expected to remain weak but stable in the short term.
