China's pesticide industry has not achieved the expected recovery in 2011—shaking off the downturn market for successive years due to the overcapacity, abnormal climate, increasing raw material prices as well as forceful impact from multinational enterprises.

Although domestic fungicide industry has been in the ascendant trend in recent years with the gradual adjustment of plant structure both at home and abroad, it also confronts with problems mentioned above and thus is negatively impacted to a certain extent in 2011.

Entering into 2012, Chinese pesticide industry, including fungicide industry, will face large structural adjustment with the implementation of Pesticide Industrial Policy, and thus some leading fungicide companies are expected to become more competitive through getting listed, mergers, reorganization, etc., while small ones may be eliminated finally.

It is particularly worth noting that several leading fungicide enterprises in China such as Jiangsu Lanfeng and Jiangsu Huifeng have gradually begun to strengthen their competitiveness through merging or establishing agrochemical companies.
