Welcome to the March issue of Sweeteners China News published by CCM, a professional consulting company which has been extensively and intently focusing on the dynamics of China's sweetener industry.
In Feb. 2013, CCM pays attention to the dynamics of sweeteners producers, including producers of HFCS, stevia sweetener and function sugars.
In detail, due to the obvious increasing sales volume of Chinese sucrose at the beginning of the 2012/2013 extraction season, domestic HFCS producers will face pressure on selling their products in H1 2013. However, domestic HFCS producers are confident that the domestic consumption volume of HFCS will increase in H2 2013 thanks to the consumption season of HFCS from June to Sept.
Besides, at present, domestic stevia sweetener producers are improving their products' status, trying to bring it as high as other sweeteners like acesulfame-K, aspartame, etc, by urging the Chinese government to revise the regulation about the product's production and application range. However, it's not likely to come true because stevia sweetener is not popular in China yet.
At last, two listed companies, Baolingbao and Shandong Longlive, released their annual performance expresses in Feb. 2013. Though they are both function sugar producers, their performances are different. Baolingbao enjoyed a good performance in net profit in 2012, while Shandong Longlive's revenue and net profit decreased at the same time.
To be noticed, the USD/RMB exchange rate is 6.28 in this issue, and all the prices mentioned in the Sweeteners China News include the VAT unless otherwise specified.
