In March, the prices of glyphosate raw materials generally warmed up, among which, diethanolamine, glycine, phosphorus trichloride, and yellow phosphorus prices increased, while the prices of glufosinate, iminodiacetonitrile, isopropylamine, and glycine remained stable.
Company dynamic: CCPIA hosted a glyphosate industry anti-involution special meeting in Beijing, with leading companies in the industry such as Hubei Xingfa Chemicals Group Co., Ltd. and Nantong Jiangshan Agrochemical & Chemicals Co., Ltd. gathering together to deeply discuss strategies and challenges in response to the phenomenon of internal competition within the industry, actively seeking ways to break the deadlock.
Policy: On 19 February, 2025, CCPIA released four group standards for the scientific use of glyphosate and herbicides in glyphosate-tolerant genetically modified (GM) maize and soybean fields, which provide scientific guidance for farmers, promote environmental protection, enhance industry standardisation, and boost the international competitiveness of Chinese pesticide products. On 20 March, 2025, NATESC released the Technical Programme for Scientific Control of Weeds in Food Crop Fields in 2025, providing clear guidance on the application of glyphosate in genetically modified herbicide-resistant corn fields.
Ongoing project: On 6 March, Jiangsu Good Harvest-Weien Agrochemical Co., Ltd. (Jiangsu Good Harvest) 's environmental impact (EI) report for the 50,000 t/a pesticide formulations project was publicised to be approved, which includes 27,000 t/a glyphosate formulation products. On 14 March, Guangxi Shuzhi Biological Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Guangxi Shuzhi)'s environmental impact (EI) report for the 20,700 t/a pesticide formulations project was approved.
