2012 was a tough year for the domestic fungicide industry. Unfortunately, in the past few months of 2013, there was no visible improvement due to a weak demand from home and abroad.
According to data from China Customs, China's fungicide export continued to decline. In the first two months of this year, China only exported 11,200 tonnes of fungicides, down 1.7% year on year. Impacted by the weak demand, China's fungicide production during this period was also down 13.3% year on year to 20,000 tonnes. The fungicide output only accounted for 3.4% of the total pesticide output, less than 4% for the first time.
At present, most of the fungicide products from domestic companies are very old ones with a low competitiveness. To change this situation, companies should optimize and upgrade their product structure. For example, some excellent products, such as pyraclostrobin, cyproconazole, tetraconazole and azoxystrobin are attracting a lot of attention.
