As of early Dec. 2011, China's fungicide industry has been going well aided by the bright market prospect. Both import and export volumes of fungicides have witnessed increase in China in the first three quarters of this year, with YOY growth rate of 33.40% and 36.59% respectively.
Besides, the output of fungicides has hit 126,700 tonnes from Jan. to Oct. 2011, up 2.20% over the same period last year. Thereinto, the top three provinces by fungicide output include Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shandong, with outputs of 57,800 tonnes, 10,500 tonnes and 6,200 tonnes respectively.
In 2012, the demand for pesticides will hit as high as 313,652 tonnes (calculated by 100% technical, similarly hereinafter) all over the country, increasing by 2.48% over 2011. Thereinto, China's fungicide demand is predicted to reach 78,100 tonnes, up 7.26% year on year.
As for fungicide varieties, strobilurin fungicides, especially azoxystrobin and kresoxim-methyl, are gaining more and more attention from domestic pesticide companies in 2011. For example, the registration of kresoxim-methyl formulations has witnessed increase to a great extent in China since early 2011. It is estimated that strobilurin fungicides will continue to be the focus of attention in China in the next year.
