Since China carried out the unified pest and disease management policy, namely Regulations of Professionally Unified management on Pest and Disease on 1 Aug., 2011, it has been well implemented in some provinces in China. With the great effort of local governments and professional management organization, this kind of pest and disease management model has been largely supported by peasants in the past few months.
However, it seems not to be a good news for the traditional pesticide sales model due to the impact it brought along. Aiming to avoid paying extra cost to retailers and pesticide dealers in the middle link of traditional pesticide sales model, professional management teams usually choose to directly purchase pesticides from pesticide enterprises. Eyeing the amount of pesticide sales has been suddenly cut off by unified management services, the traditional pesticide sales model suffered great impact. Over 8,000 pesticide retailers have went bankrupt merely in Hunan Province since the policy was carried out in 2011.
