Domestic amino acid industry was not stable in Nov. The headline was Meihua Bio's Plan to Purchase EPPEN Biotech. This acquisition not only affects amino acid industrial structure in China, but also improves the integration of the entire industry. It is worth looking forward for a upturn in amino acid industry in 2015.
Amino acid market performed mediocre this month. Specifically, the market price of lysine decreased when Global Bio-chem had to reduce its production at the beginning of Oct. The market price of methionine began to fall, moreover, both domestic and foreign manufacturing companies showed an increasing supply in Chinese market in the future. The market price of threonine decreased but it was still at a high price level with good profit which encouraged some domestic companies to increase the operating rate of threonine production lines. At the end, the market price of tryptophan increased from Oct., and the market had a good performance.
As for company developments, Evonik set up a methionine factory in Singapore as the first step of strategic layout in Asian market. The competition in Asian methionine market will be very intensive in the future. At the meantime, COFCO Biochemical will have a site relocation which might affect its amino acid products’ supply. Furthermore, Huaheng Biotechnology cooperated with its biggest client, BASF, to build the production device thereby to achieve the successful cooperation between the upstream and downstream markets. Strong Biotechnologies had been successfully been listing whose business focused on IVD diagnostic reagent with the key product as cysteine diagnostic reagent.
Live pig industry as the downstream market of amino acid entered the peak season in Q4. However, the live pig breeding industry was not as good as previous years. Under this weak situation, there were still some enterprises expanded its breeding size to show their confidence on the market price of live pig in the next year.
