Glyphosate, invented in 1971, is widely used in agricultural fields for weed control due to its efficiency, broad-spectrum effectiveness, and low carbon footprint, providing a crucial safeguard for stable agricultural yields and harvests, and playing a significant role in the field of herbicides and pesticides.
China is a major producer and exporter of glyphosate, with its glyphosate export technology trusted by consumers overseas. By the end of 2024, China's glyphosate technical production capacity had reached 830,000 t/a. Among them, Xingfa Group's production capacity had stood at 230,000 t/a, accounting for 28% of the national glyphosate capacity and ranking first in the country.
In 2024, the industry recovered, with both export volume and export value showing improvement. The top five consumer regions are Brazil, the US, Argentina, Indonesia, and India. Looking at the continents, South America and North America are the major importers of glyphosate, accounting for over 50% of China's glyphosate exports for many years.
