As the selling season for pesticides has begun, many companies, especially some overseas pesticide companies, are busy promoting their products, which will further strengthen their position in the domestic rice insecticide market. For example, Bayer recently signed an agreement with NATESC to promote its "Much More Rice" program, which offers farmers a system solution for advanced crop protection products and technologies that cover the whole process from sowing to harvest. Syngenta, another major pesticide company, also signed an agreement with NATESC to promote its products. DuPont, which achieved great success with the promotion of Rynaxypyr (with AI of chlorantraniliprole), launched essay writing activities for its Rynaxypyr product.
Owing to their good control effect and extensive promotion, most of the market share of the high end market of rice insecticides are enjoyed by overseas companies' products, especially products based on two diamide insecticides, namely chlorantraniliprole and flubendiamide. Recently, Sinochem Agro Co., Ltd. secured two registrations of SYP-9080, becoming the first domestic company to successfully register diamide insecticides with independent intellectual property rights. The company has high expectations for this insecticide and hopes that it can take a slice of the high end rice insecticide market.
