In June, a high ex-works price was observed in most of insecticides TC. The high prices were due to the tightened supply of raw materials. However, because of the flat demand, the increases were not big.

Bifenthrin TC prices continued to rise in China in early June when the major producers, especially Jiangsu Huangma and Jiangsu Huifeng, had been required a production suspension.

As of early June, Yangnong Chemical Group had finished 73% of the relocation work; Sinochem International announced on 6 June its plan of investing in Yangnong Chemical Group.

Sino-Agri Union successfully developed a new nematicide in June, and Shaoxing BSM is working to have a listing on the A-share market by optimising its product mix.

On the international side, Insecticides (India) Ltd. launched four broad-spectrum in India, namely Encounter, Sofia, Aikido, and Hercules. BASF launched new insecticide Sefina in India. By this Dec., some uses of imidacloprid are expected to be cancelled in Canada.

Environmental policies remain strict in China this month. A special campaign was conducted in Hebei Province targeting acid-related enterprises; the Three-Year Action Plan for the Comprehensive Improvement of Poyang Lake’s Ecological Environment was issued in Jiangxi Province. In addition, the MEE issued a document prohibiting the “one size fits all” approach to be adopted in environmental inspections, and any superficial rectification will be punished by the authorities.
