In terms of market analysis: March saw the global supply chain for basic chemical feedstocks come under pressure due to the escalation of geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and shipping disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, pushing up the cost of key insecticide raw materials. Coupled with the progression of domestic spring ploughing and the approaching peak pesticide-application season, prices of insecticide technical products rose across the board, signalling a market rebound.

• Liaoning Youchuang proposes 500 t/a cyantraniliprole project.
• Shandong United's 10,000 t/a 2-chloro-5-chloromethyl-pyridine and 5,000 t/a acetamiprid TC expansion construction project (Phase II) passes acceptance check.
• Inner Mongolia Benxing advances 47,320 t/a pesticide intermediates and technical material project (Phase II).
• Yangnong Chemical's bisulflufen technical has received production approval, and the formulated product was launched this month.

Regarding policy, on 1 March, the new national standard for maximum residue limits for pesticides in food, GB 2763-2026, came into force, providing strong support for the scientific use of pesticides and quality and safety supervision. Meanwhile, MARA issued the Letter on Seeking Comments Regarding the Registration Data Requirements for Ribonucleic Acid (RNA) Pesticides.

As for pest and disease, the National Agro-Tech Extension Centre (NATEC)  forecasted overall moderate incidence of pests and diseases in the 2026 national oilseed rape crop, affecting 8.20 million ha, lighter than the previous year; Meanwhile, Inner Mongolia forecasts that major pests and diseases across the region will be of moderate intensity in 2026.
