The insecticide active ingredient market remained weak in January, characterized by price fluctuations and continued supply-demand dynamics. Looking ahead to 2026, the chlorpyrifos market is expected to remain under pressure from high costs, with prices likely to trend upward rather than decline.

Policy aspects have seen new progress: Shandong Province officially included chlorpyrifos in the list of key controlled pollutants, and at the same time, the Ministry of Finance canceled the export tax rebate on value-added tax for photovoltaic and other products, involving a large number of insecticide active ingredients such as dichlorvos and phoxim.
International trade data shows that from Jan. to Dec., 2025, China exported a total of 561,668.98 tonnes of insecticide preparations, representing a YoY increase of 25.74%. The export value also rose by 14.87% YoY, while the average export price experienced a YoY decline of 8.65%.
According to pest and disease forecasts, in 2026, it is expected that 11 major pests on major food crops such as wheat, rice, corn, and potatoes, as well as oil crops and vegetable crops, will show a severe trend, and prevention should be prepared in advance. At the same time, Shanxi Province predicts that the main pests and diseases of crops such as wheat and corn in 2026 will occur at a moderate level (locally heavier), with a higher occurrence level than in 2025.
