In Jan., the ex-work price of glyphosate continued its downward trend. This market movement was mainly driven by high inventory levels and a contraction in both domestic and international trade demand, resulting in overall weak demand and declining prices.
In terms of project developments, the construction of upstream raw materials for glyphosate continued to advance: the Jingzhou Xinqi'an annual 60,000-ton industrial-grade glycine project entered the EIA public consultation stage, while Guizhou Wengfu Jiangshan Chemical Co., Ltd. completed the acquisition of the production capacity quota for 25,000 t/a of yellow phosphorus.
At the corporate level, there were also notable developments: the US Supreme Court accepted Bayer's appeal regarding glyphosate-related litigation, significantly reducing the company's litigation risks; Lanfeng Biochemical was included in the "glyphosate concept" stock sector; and Hebang Biotechnology issued a pre-loss announcement for its 2025 performance.
Regarding policy and regulation, the "One Certificate, One Product, One Standard" policy for pesticides will officially take effect on 1 Jan., 2026. Concurrently, the National Agricultural Technology Extension Service Center solicited public comments on the "Detection Methods for Glyphosate and Glufosinate-Resistant Weeds" and the "Technical Guidelines for Monitoring Weed Resistance in Transgenic Glyphosate-Tolerant Crop Fields." These measures aim to establish a solid technical foundation ahead of the large-scale commercial cultivation of transgenic glyphosate-tolerant corn and soybeans in China.
Export trade data shows that China's glyphosate exports reached 21,150.40 tons in October 2025. Brazil maintained its position as the top destination for China's glyphosate exports.
