Domestic insecticides industry shows some recovery this year boosted by the good performance in export business. In the first seven months of this year, both China's insecticides export volume and export value witnessed double-digit increase. In addition to export business, the competition in domestic market also turns tense. Recently, Dow AgroSciences launched seven products in China, including two sulfoxaflor-based insecticides. Syngenta is busy with the promotion of its thiamethoxam–based seed treatment product (Cruiser), by holding two Cruiser Vigor Forums in Guangdong and Shandong, while domestic companies are actively registering thiamethoxam formulation products.
With the increasing public health needs, such as fast development of organic agriculture, the demand for bio-pesticides will have some opportunities. In recent years, some local governments started to provide financial subsidy for bio-pesticides, which is an encouragement for biological pesticides industry.
