Currently, the use and future of abamectin ointment is a focus in China's insecticide industry. Abamectin has taken up the bigger market share of insecticides (acaricides) in China since 2007. However, this superiority will no longer exist if the ointment is banned. Of course, this is also the last thing abamectin companies want to see. So they are making effort to find a solution. Whether the ban on abamectin ointment will come true or not is unknown. But at the least it will take a long time to come.
The problem of abamectin ointment is not just its own problem. It will trigger the price hike of a series of insecticides, like emamectin benzoate which has already faced a price increase since June 2012 (technical).
July always means the coming of the annual peak season of pesticide application. Therefore, people must focus more on the substitutes for abamectin due to its tight supply. Does it indicate an upcoming beginning of the winter of abamectin or the spring of its competitors like imported rice insecticides?
