The market prices of many insecticides in China continue to keep stable this month, and a few keep ascending driven by the growing demand. Taking 95% acetamiprid technical for example, in early May, its market price increases drastically to USD22,610/t. As investigated, supply shortage is the major driver. Besides, another major insecticide, imidacloprid, also sees a tight supply at present.
May is the traditional peak season of pesticide sales in China, pesticide dealers take an optimistic view of the sales in view of the current market demand in China. The severer occurrence of insect pests over 2011 and increasing export volume are the major factors promoting the demand for pesticides, which also raises pesticide manufacturers' previous expectation of large pesticide consumption in 2012. Market prices of most pesticides, especially insecticides, keep rising in May.
Besides, the development dynamics of some hot insecticides like spinosad and botanical insecticides (flufiprole and cnidiadin) also draws attention, which will be introduced in this issue.
