Welcome to Insecticide China News published by CCM International, a professional consulting company which has been extensively and intently focusing on dynamics of China's insecticide industry.
According to National Agricultural Technology Extension and Service Center, the total national demand for pesticides in China will post a 2.48% year-on-year growth to 313,600 tonnes (984,000 tonnes for formulations) next year. Among the total, demand for insecticides is predicted to reach 124,100 tonnes, up 1.21% year on year. In fact, China's pesticide market sees a decreased demand in 2011 over last year attributed to light occurrence of insect pests. Impacted by the weak demand, coupled with continuously shrunken bank lending channels and industrial consolidation, many small and medium-sized pesticide players in China are facing possible closedown.
It seems that some new products would be launched in China's pesticide market. Bide Chemical registered 96.5% clothianidin technical this year, becoming the first and the only domestic company getting clothianidin registration at present. Besides, it is reported that Dow AgroSciences LLC is applying for the registration of 50% sulfoxaflor WG in China, which is expected to gain approval next year, which will bring Chinese farmers a new selection and enhance the company's position in the market of insecticides controlling sap-feeding insect pests.
