In the past one year, glyphosate (PMIDA) environmental protection scrutiny, taking effect in May 2013, was a hot topic in China pesticide industry, which greatly affected glyphosate industry and will continue its influence on pesticide industry in the near future.
After delayed about half a year, the name list of enterprises who passed the glyphosate (PMIDA) environmental protection scrutiny was finally published on 13th June, 2014. Among the ten enterprises who applied the scrutiny voluntarily in the first batch, only four listed companies passed the scrutiny. According to the schedule, the second batch scrutiny has already started, and the result of it will be published at the end of 2014.
The glyphosate (PMIDA) environmental protection scrutiny means much to domestic glyphosate industry. For domestic glyphosate enterprises, passing the scrutiny will directly affect their production and export business, or even their survival. For Chinese glyphosate industry, the scrutiny will raise the industry entry threshold, restrain the production overcapacity, and improve the industry concentration, etc.
For the whole pesticide industry, glyphosate (PMIDA) environmental scrutiny can promote the upgrade of the whole pesticide industry and play an irreplaceable role in the healthy development of pesticide industry.
