China's pesticide registrations reflect to some extent development trends in the industry. According to information released by the ICAMA on 31 Dec., 2013, there were 325 new registrations of pesticide technicals (renewals excluded) in 2013, more than the annual numbers for 2010 to 2012. It points to a booming year for the pesticide market.
The unbalanced distribution of new registrations across the categories of pesticide show a product adjustment in China. New registrations for herbicide technicals increased in 2013, accounting for 48.00% of the total. Meanwhile, the number of new registrations for both insecticide and fungicide technicals in 2013 fell from 2012.
Among the more active registrants were Shandong Weifang Rainbow Chemical Co., Ltd., Anhui Guangxin Agrochemical Co., Ltd. and other companies who obtained a large number of approvals. Most 2013 registrants come from Jiangsu, Shandong, and other provinces, displaying the regional concentration of China's pesticide industry.
