In May 2014, China's fluorine-enriched refrigerant market still performed actively. Of this, the price of R22 continued large increases. The ex-works price of R22 recorded USD2,249/t in May, up by 10.62% month on month. Also, the price increases of R22 drove up the prices of its upstream and downstream products. For instance, the ex-works price of AHF, an upstream product, reached USD1,541/t in May, up by 26.52% compared with that in April. Meanwhile, the ex-works prices of PTFE dispersion resin and PTFE medium size particle resin rose by 5.84% and 7.02% month on month respectively.
In May and June, CCM found that the domestic fluorochemical industry entered into industrial upgrading and optimization of product structure. For instance, Shandong Province advanced energetically new materials as well as pushed chemical parks to high-end oriented development concerning the industry planning and park construction. Shanghai 3F announced to raise funds of USD243.07 million (RMB1.50 billion) for investing in its fluorochemical business, so as to optimize its product structure.
In addition, CCM paid attention to the hot topic in air-conditioning industry, new subsidy policy for R290 air conditioners. In order to learn the factual opinions towards new subsidy policy on R290 air conditioners, CCM communicated with several experts in refrigerant and air-conditioning industry. Obviously, the new subsidy for R290 air conditioners is issued to reduce the difficulties for enterprises to promote R290 air conditioners. However, CCM interviewed several industry experts and found that most insiders agree on the positive effect brought by the subsidy to the development of R290 air conditioners in China, but not to be proved in a short term.
