In April 2014, the ex-works prices of major fluorine-enriched refrigerants witnessed varying increases. Of this, the ex-works price of R22 was USD2,033/t in April 2014, up by 9.30% compared with that in March 2014. Coincidentally, along with the price increase of R22, the ex-works price of PTFE maintained its price uptrend in April 2014. For instance, in April 2014, the ex-works price of PTFE medium size particle resin increased by 2.20% month on month. However, the ex-works prices of fluorite (CaF2>97%), aluminum fluoride (AlF3) and cryolite kept decreases, down by 1.68%, 2.34% and 4.34% respectively.
The listed fluorochemical enterprises in China released their 2013 financial reports one after another in April 2014. Under such circumstances, CCM analyzed four leading enterprises in the industry, to present the current situation and to ascertain the future direction of the industry in China. CCM focused on six aspects including overall performance, profit, assets, debt risk, R&D input and key projects under construction, to conduct systematic analysis on their performance in 2011-2013.
Besides, in this issue, CCM paid special attention to fluoropolymers, which have become an investment hotspot in the domestic fluorochemical industry for the Chinese enterprises. Regarding such phenomenon, CCM consulted some experts in this field. An expert disclosed that the capacity of fluoropolymers in China will be continually expanded and that is an irresistible development trend in the next few years, mainly because the downstream application of fluropolymers is widespread and the demand from emerging application fields such as battery, photovoltaic generation and water treatment are strongly strengthened.
The RMB/USD exchange rate in this issue is USD1.00=RMB6.1560 on 5 May, 2014, sourced from the People's Bank of China.
