In Sept. 2014, China's bio-based materials market still witnesses slow development. The NDRC jointly with MOF carried out special projects for bio-based materials industry, to impel the applications in China. CCM believes that the policy issued this time turns from general promotion to specific application, along with clear application targets.

Although the Chinese government has provided detailed guidance for the specific application of bioplastics, the industry is still involved in a niche market. In this issue, CCM outlines the progresses made in PLA, PBS and PHA in the Twelfth Five-year Plan, covering market, technology and production scale.
