Amino Acids China Monthly Report

Welcome to the July issue of Amino Acids China E-News.

Price: The ex-works prices of threonine in China during Jan. 2022 to July 2022 have been slightly dropping, but still stayed at a high level.

Company Dynamics:

• The EIA reports of Hongjian Biotech's "project of production base for 1,000 t/a flavonoids and other products (20 t/a ademetionine, 100 t/a histidine, 60 t/a L-Proline, and 65 t/a L-Hydroxyproline)" and Heilongjiang NHU's 3,000 t/a vitamins and amino acids project were approved.
• The EIA reports of Anhui BBCA Biochemical's technical renovation project of 20,000 t/a L-alanine and 10,000 t/a sodium gluconate, Jiangxi Chundi's APIs and intermediates project (Phase I; including 1,000 t/a alanine), and Zhejiang Grand's 5,000 t/a refined amino acid technical renovation project were published.
• The post-acceptance publication of EIA report of Anhui Tiger's 1,050 t/a biological enzyme, 1,000 t/a nicotinic acid, 1,000 t/a γ-Aminobutyric acid, and 1,000 t/a alanine project was made.
• Stage II of SK's production plant expansion project (Phase III) was completed. SK now owns 2,450 t/a of production capacity for several kinds of refined amino acids.
• Xinjiang Yilihong's "500,000 t/a deep processing and comprehensive utilisation of agricultural and sideline products project" (Phase I): production lines for tryptophan, leucine production line entered debugging period.
• Meihua Holdings' net profit attributable to equity holders for H1 2022 went up by 156.45% YoY, and the sales performance greatly exceeded market expectations.
• Jingjing Pharma's net profit for H1 2022 was USD2.70 million (RMB18.04 million), turning from deficits to profits compared with that in H1 2021.

Import & export: In May, 2022, China imported 14,393.60 tonnes of methionine, down by 11.98% YoY, and exported 12,609 tonnes of methione, up 99.20% YoY.
