South Korean firm launches animal feed plant in Vietnam province

An animal feed plant has been started operating by the South Korea-invested Sunjin Vina Mekong Co. with an investment of US$6 million in Vietnam's Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang, state media reported Monday (Mar 26).

Covering three hectares at Long Giang Industrial Zone in Tan Phuoc district, the plant has a capacity of 240,000 tonnes of feed annually, the newspaper said.

The plant is expected to supply the local market with difference kinds of high-quality animal feed.

Due to heavy reliance on imported materials, local animal feed production is now controlled by foreigners and prices of animal feed are often dictated by foreign firms such as Cargill, Greenfeed, New Hope and CJ Vina.
