ForFarmers tops Europe market with acquisition of BOCM Pauls

ForFarmers took over UK-based food group BOCM Pauls for GBP85 million (US$136.10 million) on March 28, making it the largest feed producer in Europe.
BOCM Pauls has 20% of the market share in the production and sale of compound feed in the UK. It operates 11 compound feed mills at 7 locations where special blends are manufactured. Annually, BOCM Pauls produces over 1.9 million tonnes of feed, including blends. The company's turnover is GBP600 million (US$960.70 million).
BOCM Pauls launched a "Total Feed Business" concept which led to a surge in sales. This concept provides every possible nutritional feed solution that a farmer needs with maximum efficiency. ForFarmers expects synergies to be gained by increased purchasing power and availability of knowledge, particularly in automation.
The acquisition of BOCM Pauls fits into Forfarmers' strategy of improving by growth.
By purchasing the activities of BOCM Pauls, ForFarmersbecomes the largest feed company in Europe with consolidated production of 8.8 million tonnes of feed and turnover of GBP 6.6 billion (US$10.57 billion)
