Competition prompts China lysine producers to cut prices

Prices were lower during the week ended December 4.

Although soymeal prices firmed up lately, lysine buyers remained cautious in procurements and relied on inventories stockpiled recently. Hence, several producers reduced prices further in a bid to promote sales.

Price quotes of 98.5-percent lysine moved down to RMB13.35-13.80/kg.

Demand for lysine is expected to be stable as buyers restock depleting inventories. Nevertheless, tight competition amid abundant supplies will likely keep lysine price in China weak.
