Lysine demand rises, China producers stand firm
Lysine prices stayed stable during the week ending May 21.
As buyers started to restock inventories while lysine was cheap, producers lifted prices, which were 25%-30% below last May's levels. Buyers reported that producers stood firm and were reluctant to negotiate prices.
Price quotes of 98.5-percent lysine inched up to the range of RMB10.80-11.10/kg.
Lysine prices will likely remain stable or move a shade higher as producers seek to sustain profits.
