China lysine producers cut prices to entice buyers

Lysine prices moved lower during the week ending October 16.

Even though soymeal prices continued to surge in China on the back of tight supplies, feed millers were not eager to stock lysine as feed demand is expected to be slow with livestock inventories substantially diminished following September's high releases.

Price quotes of 65-percent lysine and 70-percent lysine were at RMB5.20-5.40/kg and RMB5.70-5.90/kg respectively.

Lysine prices are seen stable in the coming period.

RMB1=US$0.1640 (Oct 17)
