Lysine market shows signs of weakening in China

Lysine prices were stable to lower during the week ending December 31.

Feed millers were treading prudently as livestock disease rates increased while prices of broiler and hog softened during December. Moreover, as the supply of lysine remained sufficient despite production drops, buyers were not keen to stockpile high inventories.

Price quotes of 65-percent lysine and 70-percent lysine were unchanged in the range of RMB4.30-4.60/kg and RMB4.70-4.90/kg respectively.

Producers are likely to cut prices further, albeit cautiously, to promote sales before Chinese New Year.
