Limited output, firm demand perk up China lysine prices

Lysine increased during the week ending August 27.

Producers maintained low operation rates, limiting the supply of lysine in the market as a result. Hence, as livestock feed demand continued to grow while farmers fattened animal before releases, lysine prices climbed further amid strong demand.

July's lysine exports dropped 3.9% to 19,991 tonnes on-month, but were prominently higher by 27% on-year.

Average transacted price increased by RMB0.12/kg to RMB8.87/kg.

RMB1=US$0.1627 (Aug 27)
