Ukraine to start its own agricultural machinery, fertiliser production
Ukraine will launch its own production of agricultural equipment, fertilisersand herbicides to improve the output of annual crops to 80-100 million tonnes.
During a meeting of Ukrainian-Latvian business roundtable in Riga, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said, "A country that produces so much corn, sugar, sunflower simply must produce its machinery should stop to hold jobs in the agricultural abroad."
"We will resume production of the full range of vehicles: from planters and cultivators for tractors and combines," Mykola Azarov added. He stressed that Ukraine imports more than 90% of herbicides.
