Uralkali pays US$17 million premiums to Russian NPK producers

Premiums of RUB538 million (US$17.5 million) were paid by Uralkali to Russian compound fertiliser (NPK) producers following the delivery results in third quarter 2012.
The premium mechanism is provided by Uralkali's Marketing Policy which was previously approved by the Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service. In second quarter 2012 Uralkali paid premiums of RUB457 million (US$15 million) to Russian NPK producers.
Uralkaliis one of the world's largest potash producers with a market share of about 20%. The Company's assets consist of five mines and seven ore-treatment mills situated in the towns of Berezniki and Solikamsk (Perm Territory, Russia). Uralkali employs 12,500 people (in the main production unit). Uralkali's shares and GDRs are traded on the RTS-MICEX and LSE, respectively.
