Minister Han Changfu met with Mr. Alberto Jesús Blanco Silva, the outgoing Cuban Ambassador to China in Beijing on Sept. 13, 2016.
The two sides reviewed the solid basis for cooperation and exchanged views on deepening China-Cuba agricultural cooperation.Both sides spoke highly of the bilateral agricultural cooperation achievements.
Minister Han appreciated Mr. Alberto Jesús Blanco Silva's contributions to the development of China-Cuba relations and the friendship between the two peoples, and the deepening of agricultural cooperation in particular.
He hoped that Mr. Alberto Jesús Blanco Silva could continue to pay close attention to and promote the agricultural cooperation between the two countries.
In order to strengthen future cooperation, Minister Han put forward a three-point proposal: first, continue to maintain close and high level contacts, to exchange views and discuss the good practices in agricultural and rural economic development; second, improve the construction of China-Cuba agricultural demonstration park, and conduct agricultural R&D cooperation and technology demonstration for agricultural development in both countries; third, enhance technical personnel communication and training and jointly carry out agricultural research, training and extension.
Mr. Alberto Jesús Blanco Silva expressed his appreciation for China's long-term support to Cuba's economic and agricultural and rural development, noting that he will continue his efforts to facilitate the China-Cuba friendly relationship and agricultural cooperation.
