Vice Minister Qu Dongyu met with Mr. Abdulrahman al-Fadhli, Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in Beijing on Aug. 31st, 2016.
The Saudi Arabian Minister is visiting China to attend the Meeting of China-Saudi Arabia High-level Steering Committee and the G20 Summit.
Vice Minister Qu highly commented on Saudi Arabia's achievements in agricultural development, and reviewed the bilateral agricultural cooperation. Upon request, Vice Minister Qu introduced China's food security strategy, policies for agricultural development and outbound agricultural investment. The two sides agreed to improve the bilateral agricultural cooperation mechanisms and work out a work plan and a roadmap for the next 3-5 years to implement the China-Saudi Arabia Agreement on Agricultural Cooperation. The two sides also discussed the possibility of tripartite cooperation in agriculture and pledged to encourage and support mutual investment and cooperation in agriculture.
Minister Al-Fadhli thanked Vice Minister Qu for the meeting and the briefing, and expressed his wishes that the bilateral agricultural cooperation would generate greater outcomes in the future.
