Fifth Meeting of China-Hungary Agricultural Cooperation Working Group opens in Beijing

China-Hungary Agricultural Cooperation Working Group holds the fifth meeting in Beijing on Sept. 9th, 2013.
The Fifth Meeting of China-Hungary Agricultural Cooperation Working Group was held in Beijing on Sept. 9th, 2013. MOA Vice Minister Niu Dun and Hungarian Minister of State for Agricultural Economy György Czerván co-chaired the meeting.
The two sides briefed each other on the latest development of agriculture and rural economy in both countries, highly commended the fruitful cooperation in agriculture since the convening of the Fourth Working Group meeting, discussed and identified the priorities for future cooperation.
Both sides stressed the importance of mutually-beneficial cooperation in agriculture, and agreed to intensify and expand cooperation in agricultural S&T, farm machinery, livestock production and agricultural trade.
The two sides also reached consensus on enhancing agricultural cooperation by taking the following measures:
1. To continue to promote bilateral cooperation based on existing mutual visits, increasing trade and personnel exchange;
2. To give full play to China-Hungary Center on Agricultural Science and Technology Cooperation to intensify efforts and broaden scope for cooperation, expediting collaborative research on livestock production and cropping;
3. To boost bilateral agricultural trade and investment through enhancing information exchange, conducting agri-products promotion events and exhibitions, organizing match-making events for agri-businesses and supporting enterprises in international trade;
4. To hold Agro-trade & Economic Cooperation Forum between China and Central-Eastern European Countries during AGROmashEXPO, the biggest agricultural trade fair in Hungary, in 2015. MOA will select and organize Chinese agri-businesses to participate in the expo.
Besides, the two sides agreed on holding the Sixth Meeting of China-Hungary Agricultural Cooperation Working Group in Hungary in fall of 2014.
