China-Arab States Agricultural Cooperation Forum opened in Yinchuan, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region on September 16, 2013. The Forum was jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture and the People's Government of Ningxia. Vice Minister Zhu Baocheng attended and addressed the opening ceremony of the Forum.

In his speech, Zhu noted that China and the Arab states carry forward traditional trade ties, and make joint efforts in building a "silk road economic belt'. To this end, in terms of closer cooperation on food security, the Chinese side put forward a four-point proposal: first, to improve the working mechanism and deepen agricultural cooperation; second, to enhance agricultural capacity building and promote S&T collaboration; third, to intensify food and agricultural policy coordination and facilitate international cooperation; and fourth, to boost business cooperation and advance agricultural trade development.

Over 260 delegates participated in the Forum, including Cui Bo, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Qu Dongyu, Vice Governor of the Autonomous Region, Vice Minister of Agriculture of Mauritania, and a number of other officials, experts as well as businesspersons from over 20 Arab states.
