Selected non-staple food prices –28th week of 2014

Egg price rises, vegetable prices remain stable

 

According to MOA's Agri-product Wholesale Market Information Network, the Nationwide Agri-product Wholesale Price Index for the 28th week of 2014 (July 7-13, 2014) is 204.71 (year 2000=100), decreasing by 0.39 points over a week ago. The Nationwide Non-staple Food Wholesale Price Index is 206.61, down by 0.37 points over a week ago. The trade volume of 60 items in 50 wholesale markets under intensive monitoring is 654,300 tons, increasing by 6.7% compared to the previous week.

Note:

1. The price rose for three consecutive weeks with bigger increase, and was 29.2% higher than that of last year.

2. The price dropped 8.4% year-on-year.

3. The total trade volume in 50 major wholesale markets under intensive monitoring of MOA.

4. Out of the 28 items of vegetables under intensive monitoring, as to those of the previous week, the prices of 13 items rose, the price of one item remained the same, and the prices of 14 items fell.

5. The average price of 28 items of vegetables increased by 5.3% from a year ago.

6. Change of prices was within 5%.
