Shanxi to rectify rural food markets

Shanxi announced the launch of a special campaign targeting rural food markets to regulate market orders in such food markets on Sept 5.
The special campaign will target four types of problems: businesses without licenses and certifications, thereby regulating the food industry practitioners' certification; the sale and utilization of illegal sources to correct the food industry practitioners' purchasing; and the practices of tort and counterfeit and manufacturing and sales of foods without manufacturer information, production data, shelf life, food manufacturing license and food labels to regulate management over food packaging labels. Also, in order to regulate food manufacturing and selling procedures, the campaign will hit on manufacturing that is in excess of an enterprise's business scope, including excess utilization of food additives and non-food materials in food.
By joining with the Shanxi Provincial Food Safety Committee Office, the provincial food and drug administration, and the provincial administration of industry and commerce, this initiative will last three months.
