Vice Minister Niu Dun meets Albanian Minister of Agricultur

Vice Minister Niu Dun met with Mr. Edmond Panarit, Albanian Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development & Water Administration, in Tirana on October 27, 2014. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening China-Albania agricultural communication and cooperation.
Niu noted that China and Albania are complementary in agriculture and enjoy a long-term partnership with solid foundation for future cooperation.
To step up pragmatic collaboration between the two countries, Niu put forward a three-point proposal: first, to establish a bilateral working group at a proper time in order to map out and focus on cooperation priorities; second, to boost bilateral agricultural trade through the Agro-trade & Economic Cooperation Forum between China and CEE Countries, expos, promotion events and other platforms; and third, to foster agricultural S&T communication and cooperation in grape and olive production and processing, plant and animal germplasm exchange, farm machinery and agro-product processing, through exchange visits of technical personnel, joint research programs and workshops.
Minister Panarit agreed with Niu on the above proposal. He said that the Albanian side will facilitate the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Agriculture of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development & Water Administration of the Republic of Albania on Strengthening Agricultural Cooperation signed after the meeting, to elevate bilateral ties to a new height.
