Fuzhou hosts conference on livestock industry pollution control

Fuzhou, Fujian province, hosted a conference about livestock industry pollution control on Nov 10. A total of 4,906 pig farms have been pulled down, covering 390.3 square meters.
Yang Yiming, mayor of Fuzhou, made some remarks at the conference that each department should pay attention to the control of livestock industry pollution and formulate a plan on the closing of livestock farms in the prohibited areas. In addition, the government should strengthen supervision on the livestock industry, strictly controlling the amount of livestock. According to Yang, only standardization transformation of livestock breeding in non-prohibited areas and modern green breeding methods can control livestock pollution. The government should take measures to guarantee farmer livelihood.
