A test run took place on November 20 of the gas pipeline in western China from Karamay Oilfield to Urumqi, the capital of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

Engineering work on the gas pipeline, which has a total length of 284.8 km, began on November 20, 2005. It starts from the primary gas distribution station at the town of Jinglong in Karamay and ends at Wangjiagou gate station in Urumqi.
