According to an agreement signed between PetroChina Company Limited, a holding company of CNPC, and the government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, the equity of the Chang-Ning Gas Pipeline holding by the region was formally transferred to CNPC on December 31, 2007.
The 275km-long Chang-Ning Gas Pipeline, from Changqing Oilfield to Yinchuan, which went on stream in 1998, was jointly invested, constructed and operated by CNPC's Changqing Petroleum Exploration Bureau and the government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. The transfer of the pipeline may help to optimize the operation of the gas pipeline network integrated by the West-East Gas Pipeline, the Lanzhou-Yinchuan Pipeline and the Shaan-Jing Pipelline, which are now operated by CNPC.
