Reportedly, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) planned to rescind its initial annual administrative review of the import orders on carbon and alloy wire rod from Mexico.

It's known that Nucor had field petition for a review of the antidumping duty orders on rod produced or exported by Deacero, Ternium and ArcelorMittal respectively.

Also, Nucor has submitted information from Deacero which the DOC made a final determination that Deacero's 4.75 mm rod was circumventing the orders on the product and therefore subject to the duties on 5 mm rod according to data reported.

The DOC initiates annual reviews of existing import orders only upon request by interested foreign or domestic parties.

Meanwhile, Nucor has notified the DOC on December 18 that it was rescinding its review request.

The only information available the AD duties on Mexican wire rod imports at 5.59-20.11% since orders affected in 2002.
