According to statistics, Taiwan imported 27,457 tons of stainless steel scraps in March, soaring by 56% from a month ago. The average import prices were at NT$52,889/ton, increasing by NT$2,260/ton from February.
In March, the US was the exporter of largest stainless steel scraps to Taiwan with 7,068 tons and average prices of NT$56,881; Japan was the second largest one with 5,329 tons and prices of NT$50,914/ton and the UK was the third largest one with 2,522 tons and prices of NT$54,684/ton.
Meanwhile, Taiwan's exports of stainless steel scraps totaled 5,505 tons, soaring by 57% from a month ago. The export prices averaged at NT$36,790/ton.
