According to data released by the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), the US's steel imports totaled 3,059,000 net tons in October, rising by 8.5% from a month ago.
Among them, 2,233,000 net tons were finished steel, rising by 2.7% month on month.
In the January-October period, the US's steel imports amounted to 27,010,000 net tons, falling by 5% year on year.
In the given period of time, the country's imports of finished steel products were at 20,986,000 net tons, decreasing by 5% in comparison of the figures in the same period of 2012.
